Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarpur. To know the problems of the citizens of the ward, a public dialogue was organized on Tuesday under the Municipal Government Aapke Dwar. Mayor Nirmala Sahu presided over it.

Municipal Commissioner Rituraj Pratap Singh was also present. During this, the problems of the citizens of Ward 31, 32, 33 and 34 were heard. It was organized at the night shelter located at RDS College. During this, Ward 31 councilor Rupam Kumari and the local residents informed about the drinking water crisis.

Told that IOCIL had cut and abandoned the road near the mine location for laying the gas pipeline. The pipe was not even covered. The corporation's submersible broke down during the work. It was not even repaired. He was cut and left like that on the road.

Due to this, more than 12 hundred families are facing the problem of disrupted drinking water supply for about four months. Water is being used under alternative arrangements. On this, the Municipal Commissioner showed strictness and directed the officials to call a meeting with the management of IOCIL on 13th February and raise the said problem in it. Instructions were also given to find a quick solution to this.

Waterlogging problem in Milky Tola

The people of Milky Tola raised the issue of the problem of water logging throughout the year. Told that due to water logging the condition of the locality has become hellish. Traffic is also disrupted. Because the water is dirty and black, it smells bad. Due to this even breathing has become difficult. On this, the Mayor asked for immediate investigation and a permanent solution to this problem.

The agency left it after making an incomplete drain.

People also raised similar problems of incomplete drain and road construction in different wards. Told that she left the agency without completing the work. This is causing problems to the common people. On this, the Municipal Commissioner said that these agencies will be identified and declared defunct. He also talked about starting the process towards completing the remaining work soon. Two agencies were identified on the spot.

Heated argument regarding drain level

There was a heated argument between the councilor representative and the local people regarding the level of the drain being built by BUDCO in Ward 32 and 33. The representative was pointing out an error in the level. He said that it was built too high from the road. Due to this there was also the problem of water logging there. Whereas the other side was saying it was right. It was said that as the height of the road increases, the level of the drain will come down. The Mayor took it seriously and asked the Municipal Commissioner to investigate and find a solution.

Action will be taken against those who draw water by installing motor in pipeline

Locals Urmila Devi, Shankar Prasad and Jeevesh Kumar, among others, complained that water was being drawn into houses by illegally installing a motor in the corporation's pipeline. On this, the Municipal Commissioner directed the officials to immediately mark those houses and take action. During the public interaction, the Mayor and the Municipal Commissioner also conducted on-spot inspection. During this time, he expressed his displeasure after seeing the filth spread in the wards. The officials concerned were reprimanded and asked to streamline the cleaning system regularly.
