Jagran correspondent, Agra. The court has sentenced one year imprisonment to the accused who stalked a student, molested her and wrote I love you on the wall. Even after several attempts by the victim and her relatives, the accused Manjeet Rathore did not stop his actions, due to which the victim had filed a case against him in the Sadar police station. Chief Judicial Magistrate Mrityunjay Srivastava sentenced the accused to one year imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2,000. The accused is in jail since January 23, 2025.
Case of Sadar area, accused used to molest student
The victim, a resident of Sadar police station area, had filed a case against the accused Manjeet Rathore in Sadar police station in January 2025. According to the victim, he was harassing her by following her while going to school and coaching for three years. Sometimes he would puncture his bicycle or knock the latch of his house. Accused Manjeet was pressurizing her for marriage. He used to threaten to kill if he refused.
A case was filed for harassing people by blocking the road every day.
The victim and her relatives tried to explain, the accused's relatives also assured that they will not be given a chance to complain again. Even after this, when the actions of the accused did not stop, the victim filed a case. The accused is lodged in the district jail since January 23, 2025. Charges were framed against him on April 8, 2025.
On behalf of the prosecution, the victim, her mother, sub-inspector Shivam Mishra, Lokendra Singh, policeman Saurabh Kumar were presented in the court for testimony. CJM Mrityunjay Srivastava sentenced the accused on the basis of the statements of witnesses and the arguments of the prosecution.
