'Nobody will do any harm till Muzaffarpur...', as soon as the video went viral, two people including TTE
Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarpur. Immediate action has been taken on TTE after a case of illegal extortion from railway passengers came to light in 12558 Down Saptakranti Express coming from Anand Vihar Delhi to Muzaffarpur. After the video of illegal recovery was broadcast, on the orders of DRM Jyoti Prakash Mishra, Senior DCM Ananya Smriti has suspended Senior TTE Girish Prasad along with his in-charge.
The order has been issued from Samastipur Railway Division. The prompt action taken on TTE created a stir in the department apart from East Central Railway.
Narkatiaganj traveler made video:
During inspection in Saptakranti Express, Senior TTE found many passengers from Narkatiaganj, Bettiah who had sat in the sleeper coach after taking general tickets. When asked to make fine, it was not made. After that, Rs 100-200 were collected from them. Some passengers made a video of it.
TTE took Rs 100, 200 and 300, but handed over the receipt without any fine. In the video, on the question of a passenger, TTE is also heard saying that no one will harm you till Muzaffarpur, we will also get down there, go comfortably.
Will be present in this bogie, so no one needs to be afraid. Azizul Haq, a traveler from Narkatiaganj, made a video of the entire incident and shared it on the internet media.
Senior officers of East Central Railway tagged with the Railway Ministry. After this post no one even got a chance to give any clarification. Apart from the railway personnel, other people along with the passengers were also seen watching that video on mobile and tab.
Action taken within two hours:
As soon as the video was broadcast, action was started against the said TTE from Samastipur Railway Division. DRM ordered to investigate the entire incident. Senior DCM has said that action will be taken under the transparency policy.
