Police said the accused used to steal two-wheelers from different areas and use them to flaunt a lavish lifestyle so that he would get praise and attention. When the petrol ran out, he would leave the bike where it stopped and take the next stolen vehicle, investigators said.

The matter came to light after a complaint was registered about the theft of a Honda Activa 5G from the Film City Road area of Goregaon East on January 9, 2026. Dindoshi police registered a case under section 303(2) of the Indian Judicial Code, 2023 and launched a detailed investigation.

However, his sisters were deeply troubled by his repeated involvement in theft and drug addiction. Earlier, his sisters had helped him get bail once or twice, but when there was no change in his behavior, they stopped supporting him legally. As a result, whenever he was arrested thereafter, he served his sentence and was released. Police said he has already served sentence in seven cases.

Describing his modus operandi, a police officer said, "The accused used to steal motorcycles, ride on them, and take his girlfriend on outings.
