On the occasion of New Year, while devotees from India and abroad reached Sachkhand Sri Harimandir Sahib to pay obeisance, some mischievous elements were also seen active with the intention of taking advantage of the crowd. In one such case, an incident of phone snatching has come to light, in which an accused was caught on the spot.
According to the information, some youths snatched the mobile phone of a girl from the crowd and started running away. During this time, the Sangat and sevadars present there caught sight of the accused. When chased, a young man was caught by the people, while his other companions fled from the spot. The youth caught was wearing Nihang Bana.
Initially the accused claimed to be associated with a Nihang group, but when people interrogated him strictly, he admitted his mistake. The accused also gave information about his associates. After this he was handed over to the police.

The young man had scared the girl by showing her a saber
In the viral video, the young man told that the accused tried to scare the girl by showing her a saber. After which his associates snatched his phone and fled. After the beating, the accused youth informed that he was not a part of any Nihang group. He went to his friends' house. Where she was made to wear this Nihang Bana. She doesn't even know how to wear a scarf on her head. His friends also made him wear this.
Accused handed over to police
As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and took the accused into custody and started questioning. Information is being obtained about who was with the accused. The family of the accused is being contacted and inquiries are also being made about the other accused.
