The work of laying a pipeline for Ganga water is going on near Tigri in Greater Noida West. After its completion, the supply of Ganga water will start to many nearby societies including Gaur City of Greater Noida West.
To reduce the pressure on groundwater, a pipeline has been laid from Dehra to carry Ganga water to Greater Noida. Through this, Ganga water is being supplied to Purti area of Greater Noida, but some areas in Greater Noida West are still deprived of Ganga water supply. There have been a large number of cases of people falling ill due to contaminated water supply in Greater Noida.
This problem has arisen due to sewer and water lines being together. By laying a separate pipeline for Ganga water, problems like supply of contaminated water will also be solved to a great extent. Supply of Ganga water will also reduce pressure on ground water. The work of laying pipelines for Ganga water is going on at many places.
The pipeline work near Delta 2 is expected to be completed in a week. Ganga water will soon reach Knowledge Park 1, 2 and 3, Sector Omega and Builder Area also. The work of laying pipeline near Tigri in Greater Noida West is also going to be completed soon.
Senior Manager of Water Department, Vinod Sharma says that supply of Ganga water has started in Sigma 1, 2 and 3 and Omicron 1, 1A. The places where pipelines are being laid. The supply of Ganga water will be started there also soon.
