A confluence of art, culture and spirituality will be seen in the Gorakhpur Mahotsav to be organized for three days from Sunday on the banks of Ramgarhtal, which is shining on the tourism map of Eastern Uttar Pradesh. Besides, branding of heritage and development will also be visible in the festival. Local talents will get a big platform at the festival, people will get meaningful entertainment and entrepreneurs will get business and employment opportunities.
Gorakhpur Mahotsav will be inaugurated by State Government Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh on Sunday. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be present at the formal closing ceremony on January 13 (Tuesday).
While sharing information related to the festival in a press conference on Saturday, Commissioner Anil Dhingra said that the main programs will be held till January 13 but the festival will continue till January 17. He said that like previous years, this year also Gorakhpur Mahotsav is ready to provide a platform for art, culture, knowledge, science, intelligence, entertainment and employment. The specialty of Gorakhpur Mahotsav is that it is giving a festive platform to the evolving identity of Gorakhpur in the recent eight years.
Since 2017, Gorakhpur has taken a new flight of progress under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This district, which once suffered the brunt of backwardness, has set new patterns of development. Many projects like magnificent infrastructure development, unprecedented industrial growth, excellent road, rail and air connectivity, fertilizer factory, Pipraich Sugar Mill, AIIMS, Regional Medical Research Centre, Ayush University, Zoo, Jatayu Conservation Centre, Sainik School, Water Sports Complex were found.
Along with development and employment, the art and culture here has also been continuously preserved and enriched. Integrating all this, this festival will be a mirror of the development, art and culture of Gorakhpur. Under the Mahotsav, a special craft fair, book fair, agricultural exhibition, garden exhibition, science exhibition will also be organized and food stalls will also be set up.
The shops of local products and craftsmen from different states of the country are decorated and ready. The aroma of traditional cuisine along with handicrafts, handloom, clay and wooden products in these shops will attract people.
This year, the series of cultural programs in Gorakhpur Mahotsav has been made more grand and diverse. The three-day festival will begin with Bollywood Night on January 11, in which Varun Jain and Tannishtha Puri will enthrall the audience with their performances. The colorful start of music and entertainment on the very first day will give new heights to the enthusiasm of the festival.
The second day, the evening of 12th January, will be named Bhojpuri Night. Bhojpuri cinema and music superstar Pawan Singh will add color to the stage with his popular songs. Not only the youth but the audience of every age group will be seen dancing on his songs. This presentation of Bhojpuri culture and folk music will further enrich the festival with local colours.

The concluding day of the festival on January 13 will witness a unique confluence of devotion and entertainment. In the evening, a bhajan evening will be organized in the melodious voice of MLA and famous singer Maithili Thakur, in which an emotional atmosphere of devotion and music will be created. After this, Bollywood Night will be organized in the night, where people will be seen dancing to the songs of famous rapper and singer Badshah.
