Jagran correspondent, Lucknow. A case of embezzlement of gold worth about Rs 77 lakh and Rs 13.25 lakh in the name of BC (Committee) has come to light in Thakurganj. It is alleged that after complaining, the accused entered the house and beat the son. Complaint was lodged at Thakurganj police station and other places, but no hearing took place. On this, a case has been registered against five named and eight unidentified persons on the orders of the court.
Anoop Kumar Verma, a resident of Newazganj, Thakurganj, said that on the afternoon of July 7, Dilip Chaurasia, Rajesh Verma, Shiv Kumar Soni, Vinod Verma, Vinod Kumar Jain and eight other people reached his house. Only son Krishna Verma was present at home.
It is alleged that as soon as the gate opened, all the people started abusing, beating and threatening to kill. The accused also tried to break the CC camera. The son had informed on dial-112.
The victim alleges that earlier the accused made him deposit a huge amount of gold and cash by luring him with 26 percent extra profit in the BC of gold.
The victim gave 378.90 grams of gold to Dilip Chaurasia, Rs 13.25 lakh to Rajesh Verma and 188.950 grams of gold to Shiv Kumar Soni as BC instalment. Later, delay in asking for payment started.
The victim told that 567.85 grams of gold worth Rs 77 lakh and Rs 13.25 lakh were snatched from him. Anoop Kumar Verma says that if he asked for the money and gold back, he and his family were threatened with death. When he lodged a complaint at the police station on July 8, the accused surrounded him and beat him.
Complained to the police station and police officers, but no hearing took place, after which the victim approached the court. On the orders, Thakurganj police has registered a report against Dilip Chaurasia resident of Nagariya Thakurganj, Rajesh Kumar Verma resident of Chowk, Shiv Kumar Soni resident of Lajpatnagar Chowk, Vinod Verma resident of Gol Darwaza Chowk, Vinod Kumar Jain resident of Chowk and seven-eight unknown people.
Inspector Omveer Singh Chauhan said that further action will be taken on the basis of evidence.
