Jagran Correspondent, Etah. A campaign to remove encroachment was conducted on GT Road, the main road of the city, on Saturday. In the joint action of the municipality, administrative team and police force, temporary encroachments made on the roadside from the bus stand to the medical college were removed on both sides.
Municipality launched campaign with police on Saturday
There was a traffic jam in the city due to encroachment. Especially in the morning and evening, drivers faced a lot of difficulty in passing. Many times, small and big accidents have happened due to the narrow road. Citizens were continuously complaining to the administration regarding this problem. On Saturday, municipal workers removed the encroachment on the roadside with the help of JCB and other resources.

The operation was conducted peacefully in the presence of police force. During the action, some shopkeepers also protested, but after persuasion by the officials, the situation remained under control.
Executive Officer and Additional SDM Satish Kumar said that the purpose of removing encroachment is to make the traffic smooth and prevent accidents. Warned the encroachers that strict action would be taken if they encroach on the road again. It was also said that such campaigns will be run by the Municipality from time to time.
