State Bureau, Chandigarh. Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi's health suddenly deteriorated late on Thursday night. He was immediately admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali after complaining of chest pain. On Friday, the Chief Secretary underwent heart bypass surgery under the supervision of surgeon Dr. PS Mahant.
The hospital has said that the operation was successful and the Chief Secretary is recovering. Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi has currently been kept in the CTVS Intensive Care Unit. He is likely to be shifted to a private room in the next two days. Anurag Rastogi has been advised to take rest for the next two months.

1990 batch IAS officer Anurag Rastogi has turned 60. Last year on June 30 he celebrated his 60th birth anniversary. Anurag Rastogi's retirement was on June 30, 2025, but the state government has extended his tenure by one year till June 30, 2026.
