Jagran correspondent, Gurdaspur. Addition SHO of Gurdaspur district lost his life in a road accident amidst the havoc of dense smog in Punjab. The accident occurred when he was being brought in an ambulance to Amritsar for treatment after his health deteriorated while on duty.
This road accident happened on the National Highway near Sohal village of Dhariwal. Deceased Additional SHO Sulkhan Ram was posted at Dhariwal police station. According to the information, like every day, on Thursday too, Additional SHO Sulkhan Ram was posted on duty at Dhariwal police station. Suddenly his health deteriorated.
Seeing his health deteriorating, his colleagues immediately admitted him to a private hospital in Gurdaspur. Due to his serious condition, the family decided to refer him to Amritsar for better treatment. It was decided to take Sulkhan Ram to Amritsar in an ambulance. The family left for Amritsar at night itself.

Daughter and driver seriously injured
When the ambulance left for Amritsar, due to dense fog on the way, the ambulance met with a horrific road accident on the National Highway near village Sohal. The accident was so horrific that Additional SHO Sulkhan Ram died on the spot.
His daughter has suffered serious injuries in this accident, which is still undergoing treatment. While the ambulance driver is also said to be seriously injured.

The accident occurred due to low visibility
Giving information in this regard, DSP Dhariwal Kulwant Singh Mann said that Sulkhan Ram's health had deteriorated inside the police station premises. After which his treatment was also started. This accident happened due to dense fog and low visibility. Due to this unfortunate incident, there is a wave of mourning in the entire area including the police department.
