Digital Desk, New Delhi. Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said his ministry's tableau at the Republic Day parade displayed three new criminal laws, symbolizing the historic legal reforms that swept away vestiges of the colonial era under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
It is also a sign of moving India from a system that emphasizes punishment to a justice-oriented legal system.
In a post on Through this, citizens were made aware of the importance of quick, accurate and people-centric justice system in the new India.
The tableau showcased the sweeping changes that have taken place in the country's criminal law over a century, with the adoption of a faster, technology-based and citizen-centric justice system.
Let us tell you, this tableau was based on three new laws implemented by the Home Ministry in 2024 - Indian Justice Code, Indian Civil Defense Code and Indian Evidence Act, which replaced the British era Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure and Indian Evidence Act.
