Samvad Sutra Jagran, Wazirganj. A young man, resident of Ward 10 of the police station area, tried to commit suicide by pouring inflammable substance on himself at around 10 pm, accusing his wife of harassing him. This created a stir among the relatives.
The people present nearby showed promptness and informed the police. The youth was admitted to the district hospital. From where when his condition became serious, he was referred to a higher center. The relatives are in shock after this incident. He alleges that he took this step after being fed up with his wife's harassment.
Case of Ward-10 of Wazirganj police station area, police also accused of not hearing
Dr. Shivaom Mishra, father of Manoj Mishra, resident of Ward 10, Wazirganj, told that he had a love marriage with Neetu, resident of Nadwari village on 25 February 2020. Everything went well in the beginning, but then he started having disputes with his wife. Which increased and the situation worsened in the last four years. It is alleged that his wife kept filing cases against him and his family members every day, due to which he was mentally broken.
There was a love marriage six years ago.
The father alleges that on Tuesday also his wife beat up Manoj, complaining about which he reached the police station, but no action was taken. But when his wife reached the police station, the Halka in-charge abused her over the phone, pressurized her to vacate the house and threatened her with dire consequences.
The young man said- Cases have been filed against him and his relatives.
When there was no hearing from anywhere on Tuesday, he poured inflammable substance on himself and set himself on fire late at night. But when relatives and nearby people arrived, the fire was soon brought under control. He was first taken to CHC. From where he was sent to the district hospital. Now he was also referred to a higher center from the district hospital.
Wazirganj in-charge Inspector Surendra Singh said that information was received about Manoj's attempt to commit suicide due to a family dispute. The young man was sent to the hospital. He said that a case had previously been filed on behalf of the wife in the matter. The entire incident is being investigated and action will be taken after investigation.
Used to threaten to fill the blue drum
Manoj's father told that a day before also his wife had beaten him with tongs. After this incident, he went to the police station with a complaint, but it was not heard. Manoj says that due to disappointment at every level, he was completely mentally broken. She kept giving him threats like killing him and getting him stuffed in a blue drum.
