Collision with a container parked on the roadside
Jagran correspondent, Hajipur (Vaishali). A painful road accident took place on Saturday morning near the toll plaza under Sarai police station area on Hajipur-Muzaffarpur NH-22. In the head-on collision between a car and a truck, the doctor couple traveling in the car died on the spot, while the driver was seriously injured. Surprisingly, the pet dog present in the car narrowly escaped the accident.
The deceased have been identified as Dr Jitendra Prasad and his wife, residents of Patna district. It is being told that both husband and wife were doctors. Dr. Jitendra Prasad was working in Araria Sadar Hospital.
According to the information, the doctor couple had left for Patna by car from Araria at around 8 pm on Friday night. The car was being driven by a driver and his pet dog was also present with him.
During the journey, at around 4 am on Saturday morning, his car collided with a speeding truck in the eastern lane near the toll plaza of Sarai police station area. The collision was so severe that the car was badly damaged. After the accident, there was chaos on the spot and passers-by gathered at the spot.
As soon as information about the incident was received, the police team of Sarai police station reached the spot. Showing promptness, the police immediately took all the injured to Hajipur Sadar Hospital. The doctors there declared the doctor couple dead after investigation, while the condition of the driver is said to be critical. The driver's treatment is continuing in Sadar Hospital.
Police officer of Sarai police station said that there was a collision between a car and a truck while coming from Muzaffarpur side. In the initial investigation, high speed and possible drowsiness are being considered as the cause of the accident, although the entire matter is being investigated. The police have informed the family members of the deceased doctor couple about the incident.
Police have seized the damaged car and taken it to the police station and the truck driver is being searched. There is a wave of mourning in the area due to this accident, while questions have once again arisen regarding road safety.
