Communication Assistant, Meham (Rohtak). A canter driver died in a tragic road accident on the Meham bypass located on National Highway-9 in the Meham area of the district. The accident happened late night near Shere Punjab Hotel. Police have registered a case against the unknown trolley driver and started investigation.
Sevak Singh, a resident of Sahibzada Fateh Singh Nagar in Faridkot district of Punjab, told in his complaint to the Meham police station that his younger brother, 30-year-old Jagdeep Singh, was a canter driver in a trucking company. He was going to Sriganganagar in Rajasthan after loading plastic pipes from Delhi.
According to the complaint, at around 1 am in the night, a trolley driver moving ahead on Meham bypass suddenly applied brakes without any signal, due to which the canter collided directly with the rear of the trolley. The collision was so severe that Jagdeep was seriously injured.
With the help of passers-by, he was taken to Meham Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The brother of the deceased has blamed the negligence of the trolley driver for the accident and demanded strict action. Police have registered a case against the unknown trolley driver and investigation is being done from CCTV footage and other aspects.
