Ali Abbas, Jagran, Agra. What would have happened after 11 vehicles collided with each other and caught fire due to fog on Yamuna Expressway at 4 am on December 16? The teeth sent for testing the DNA samples of those who were burnt alive are testifying to its horror. Some teeth are being shattered like coal burnt in fire as soon as they are picked up by scientists to obtain DNA samples. Whereas teeth are the only organ that survives after the body burns to ashes. In such a situation, the challenge for scientists is to collect DNA samples from many teeth. DNA experts from Lucknow and Ghaziabad have been sent to Agra for investigation.

DN experts were called from Ghaziabad and Lucknow for investigation.

A horrific accident took place on the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura on the morning of 16th December when visibility was zero in fog. After 11 vehicles collided one after the other, nine caught fire. In which 19 people died. Many people were burnt alive in the fire. Teeth and bones as well as DNA samples of 19 people have been sent to identify the bodies of those who died. From which DNA can be obtained and the dead bodies can be handed over to the relatives and matched with their DNA.

Teeth falling off like coal as soon as the tasting is held in hand

For the first time after an accident in the forensic lab, so many samples have been sent simultaneously for DNA testing. The number of scientists in the DNA section is less. Due to which the investigation could take up to a month. Due to which the government has sent expert scientists for DNA testing to Ghaziabad and Lucknow. On Friday, a team of scientists tried to obtain DNA from the teeth samples sent from the dead bodies. Many of these teeth broke and scattered like burnt coal. If DNA is not obtained from the broken tooth, a second attempt will have to be made from another tooth. After this, scientists will take samples from the bones of the dead bodies and match them with the DNA of the relatives.

DNA test results will be available after 72 hours

It will take at least 72 hours to get the test reports of the dead body samples from the forensic lab. It takes scientists about two days to collect a DNA sample from teeth or bone. Whereas taking a DNA sample from blood takes only two hours. Due to which the scientists of the forensic lab will be able to give the investigation report only after three days.

UP's most experienced DNA scientist gets command of investigation

A team of 10 scientists has been deployed to test the 15 samples sent to the lab. Whose command has been given to Anita Pundhir, the most experienced DNA testing scientist of Uttar Pradesh. He is currently posted at Ghaziabad Forensic Lab. Apart from this, DNA testing expert scientist Pragati Singh has been called from Lucknow. Pawan Kumar posted in Agra DN section is also included. Joint Director Forensic Lab Ashok Kumar said that 15 samples have been sent for DNA testing.

The human body turns to ashes at an altitude of 1400 to 1800 degrees Fahrenheit.

The human body and its bones burn to ashes at 1400 to 1800 degrees Fahrenheit (760 to 982 degrees Centigrade). Looking at the condition of the teeth of the DN samples sent for testing, it is being estimated that after the fire in the bus, its temperature would have reached 1800 Fahrenheit. Due to which the teeth of those who died reached the point of being crushed like coal. Just imagining the magnitude of the accident from the condition of the teeth, even the scientists shuddered.
