Entertainment Desk, New Delhi. A latest statement by AR Rahman has sparked a heated debate. In an interview, he had said that because he was a Muslim, he had to face communal discrimination in the industry and he did not get work in the industry for the last 8 years. There was a lot of uproar regarding this statement and many celebs from the industry have reacted to it.
AR Rahman adopted Islam
Bhajan singer Anup Jalota reacted to this and released a video and gave advice to Rahman. In the video, Anoop Jalota said, 'Music director AR Rahman was initially a Hindu. After that he converted to Islam and did a lot of work, earned a lot of name, made a very good place in the hearts of people. But if he believes that because he is a Muslim in our country, he is not getting films to give music in, then he should become a Hindu again. So they should believe that after becoming Hindu, after converting to religion, they will start getting films again. That's what they mean.'

What is the whole matter?
In an interview given to BBC Asia Network, Rahman had complained about not getting work. "Maybe in the last eight years, there has been a change in power and now power is in the hands of people who are not creative. It could also be a community issue, but that is not directly in front of me," he said. When questioned I found out in a whisper that they had booked you, but the music company hired five of their own musicians. On this Rahman said, 'Wow, great! Let me rest. I can spend time peacefully with my family.
