In Amriya town, an illegal cut was made to pass through the divider on the highway. A wire was tied on the illegal cut for safety.
Jagran correspondent, Pilibhit. The arbitrariness of drivers and departmental indifference on the Pilibhit-Bareilly National Highway are inviting major accidents. At many places, cuts have been made by illegally breaking the dividers built between the highways. These illegal cuts are not only a violation of traffic rules, but are also causing sudden danger to speeding vehicles.
This problem has become acute at major places in the district like Lalori Kheda, Amaria and Gajraula Kalan. These illegal cuts have been made mainly by the local shopkeepers or some private establishments for their convenience, but the common pedestrians have to bear the brunt of them by risking their lives.
Lalauri Kheda: Not in the papers, but present on the road
Lalauri Kheda on Pilibhit-Bareilly road has become the center of illegal cuts. Here a big cut has been created by breaking the divider, due to which the drivers change direction arbitrarily. An even more serious matter is in front of the SSB center located at Lalauri Kheda. According to experts, this cut is not recorded in the papers, which simply means that it is completely unauthorized. Due to this "invisible" cut, there is danger to military and civilian vehicles traveling to and from the center as well as to other pedestrians.
Amaria: Broken divider, irregular movement
Even in Amriya area, dividers on the National Highway have been broken at many places. For their convenience, local people create a shortcut by removing parts of the divider, due to which suddenly vehicles coming from two opposite directions come in front. Due to such haphazard movement amidst the fast speed of the highway, small and big road accidents keep happening every day. The administration should immediately repair the broken dividers and impose fines on those making illegal cuts.
Gajraula Kalan: Illegal cut, den of accidents
At one place in Gajraula Kalan also, an illegal cut has been made by breaking the divider. This cut remains the main cause of accidents in this area. According to the local people, the people making the cuts only look out for their own convenience, but no one takes responsibility for the accidents that occur due to this.
At night, when visibility is low, these illegal cuts become even more dangerous black spots. The railing on the divider on the route has also been broken at many places. In such a situation, people are easily leaving the place of broken railing. In the past few days, two people have been injured while traveling through these routes. But even after that it is not being rectified.
NHAI officials will be asked to close the cuts made illegally by writing a letter. Earlier also these illegal cuts were closed by NHAI, but people reopened them. These illegal cuts need to be stopped permanently.
