State Bureau, Chandigarh. In Haryana, no private hospital will be able to charge more than Rs 11,000 for single donor platelets from dengue patients. A maximum fee of Rs 600 has been fixed for Elisa based NS1 and LGM tests.

The state government has issued fresh guidelines regarding malaria, dengue, chikungunya and Japanese encephalitis. In the changed rules, provision for punishment has been made for those who violate the rules. Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, Dr. Sumita Mishra said that the new rules will remain effective till March 31, 2027.

It is mandatory for all government and private hospitals, clinics and laboratories to provide complete details of the patient to the concerned civil surgeon within 24 hours of receiving the report of each confirmed case of vector-borne diseases. It should also be updated on the Integrated Health Information Platform portal.

A case of malaria can be declared positive only after confirmation by microscopy or antigen and based rapid diagnostic test. Gu's case can be confirmed only by ELISA-based NS1 LGM or RT and PCR tests.

NSI antigen test is to be done for those patients who have had fever for less than five days. LGM antibody test is necessary for those who have had fever for more than five days. No patient can be declared dengue positive without a confirmed test.

In cases where private labs do not have the facility of Alice testing, they will have to send the patients to the designated government lab for confirmation or send their blood samples.

A fine of Rs 1000 will be imposed for the first violation, Rs 5000 for the second time and Rs 10,000 for the third or subsequent violation. Any fine can be appealed before the Appellate Committee headed by the Civil Surgeon within 30 days.
