Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. Strict action will be taken against noise in marriage procession after 10 pm, bursting of crackers and flying drones without permission. Similarly, if garbage is found on the roadside after February 20, fine will be imposed on the concerned business units. District Magistrate Dr. Naval Kishore Chaudhary gave these strict instructions in the review meeting of all the municipal bodies of the district at Samiksha Bhawan on Monday.
In the meeting, the progress of schemes, revenue collection, cleanliness, encroachment and urban development works of Bhagalpur Municipal Corporation, Sultanganj and Navgachia Municipal Council and Kahalgaon, Peerpainti, Sabaur, Akbarnagar and Habibpur Nagar Panchayat was reviewed in detail.
In the review of holding tax, it was told that on vacant land, three rupees per square meter tax is collected in Municipal Corporation area, two rupees in Municipal Council area and one rupee per square meter in Nagar Panchayat area. Different rates are fixed for buildings according to the type of road.
The District Magistrate directed to re-verify the holding of all buildings and vacant plots, give wide publicity in advance and get verification done from Tax Tehsildars. The Municipal Commissioner was asked to organize a special camp.
In the review of the arrangement of saraits, information was given about the arrangement of bus stands in the municipal corporation area. On the status of registration of shops, it was told that registration and annual renewal of shops is done in municipal body areas and the trade license fee is fixed at Rs 500 to Rs 2500. Instructions were given to speed up the process by holding a meeting with the Chamber of Commerce for the registration of about 12 thousand shops in the Municipal Corporation area.
In the review of Swachh Bharat Mission, orders were given to distribute wet and dry waste separately from house to house, to conduct publicity through ward councilors and to conduct regular raids against banned polythene. It was made mandatory for all business units and food vendors to have dustbins and mark their shop numbers on them.
Instructions were given to mark yellow stripes for footpath shopkeepers and red stripes for bikes and customers and to take action against violations. Dump site, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), Water Supply Scheme, Amrit Yojana, drain-lane paving, crematorium, Samrat Ashok Bhawan, Samagra Vikas Yojana and Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan were also reviewed in the meeting.
Information was given about the construction of four parks in the Municipal Corporation area under Amrit Yojana. Instructions were given to make crossing lines at all turns for Toto operation and to operate only in the designated lanes during the day. Emphasis was also laid on checking the high mast light, status of seven shelter home sites and presenting an action plan for disposal of garbage from marriage halls.
