The accident occurred near Baghchal bridge at around 1 o'clock on Saturday night. The tipper went out of control and fell into a deep ditch. The relatives of the deceased and the villagers, opening a front against the company management, blocked the road by placing the dead body on the Kiratpur-Nerchowk four lane.
Due to this the movement of vehicles stopped. Now vehicles are being sent by the police through the old national highway. Around 1.30 pm people blocked the road. Vehicles are being diverted from Mandi-Bharari towards the old NH.
49 year old driver Kuldeep Singh was a resident of village Dhanipakhar. Kuldeep Singh was working as a tipper driver in the railway project. He lost control of the tipper near Bagchhal bridge on Saturday night and the vehicle fell straight into a deep gorge. Hearing the sound of the accident, local people reached the spot and informed the police. After a lot of effort, the police took out the body from the ditch.
Relatives angry at company management's indifference
After the accident, there was anger among the relatives and villagers on Sunday morning. The relatives allege that despite such a big incident, no senior official of the construction company reached the spot. Family members have raised questions about the company's practices and safety standards.
Police force deployed on the spot
In view of the tense situation, police force has been deployed on the spot. Police officers are trying to convince the people, but the villagers are adamant on their demand for proper compensation and fixing the accountability of the company management. Police have started investigating the cause of the accident.
