Jagran correspondent, East Delhi. In Mandavali area late on Tuesday night, two minor criminals attacked a young man with a knife to rob him of Rs 400. The youth was returning home from duty at the time of the incident. After bleeding the young man, the miscreants looted Rs 400 from him.
The victim was successful in saving his mobile. Vinod Nagar resident Priyanshu Rawat was admitted to LBS Hospital in injured condition. On the complaint of the injured, Mandavali police station has registered a case under several sections including robbery. The scooter used in the crime has been recovered.
Eastern District Police Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Dhania said that at 12:52 pm on Tuesday night, information was received from LBS Hospital that the youth has been admitted in an injured condition. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot. Priyanshu Rawat was found in injured condition.
The injured told the police that he was going to his home from duty at night. Near Talab Chowk, two scoundrels riding a scooter surrounded him and started robbing him of his mobile phone. The victim protested and the miscreants took out a knife and attacked him on his stomach and hand.
The criminals fled after looting Rs 400. A team was formed under the leadership of Police Station Head Anil Sharma. The police analyzed the footage of more than a hundred CCTV cameras and identified the miscreants. He was caught from Mandavali area itself.
