Jagran correspondent, Maithon (Dhanbad). Three illegal coal mines running in the forest near Galfarbari Sanyasi Temple collapsed late on Tuesday night. It is feared that many people may die due to this. However, this incident has not been officially confirmed.

Local people told that at around 1 o'clock in the night, 50 to 60 laborers were entering the mine operator Shakti's mine in the forest near Sanyasi Temple and cutting coal illegally in an unsafe environment.

In this sequence, some workers cut the pillars inside the mine in order to cut more coal. Due to this the mine suddenly caved in. Due to its impact, the adjacent mines of mine operator named Gopal and Mintu also got affected and they also caved in.

In this incident, many workers got trapped inside the mine and many died due to being hit by debris. There was chaos after this incident.

According to the local people, the mine operators, with the help of some local coal thieves, hurriedly rescued the workers buried and trapped inside the mine. The bodies of the laborers who had died were taken out at night and disposed of.

The accident mines have been filled with dozers and JCB machines, so that the district administration does not find any evidence at the spot. Since all the laborers who died in this incident were from Bengal, their relatives have not yet come forward due to fear. The mine operators have silenced their relatives by threatening them with a case and helping them with a few rupees.

Kiln operator gets illegal mining done by giving financial help

In the forest near Gulfarbari Sanyasi Temple, notorious coal thief cum kiln operator Munna and Pintu of Dudhiapani work to run illegal coal mines by giving financial help to the local youth.

The coal coming out of these mines is transported to the kilns located in Dudhiapani by vehicles like tractors, pickup vans, bikes etc. From where coal is loaded in trucks and taken to the markets of Bengal, Bihar, UP and sold.

Today the situation is such that even after such a big mine accident, coal was being taken illegally in broad daylight in the kilns of Munna and Pintu. From this, the increasing morale of coal thieves can be gauged.
