Students protesting by closing the gate of AMU.
Jagran correspondent, Aligarh. The students of Engineering College of Aligarh Muslim University have intensified their protest against the university administration. The students closed the college gate on Monday morning. Due to this, engineering college students were not able to take the examination.
Students allege that due to low attendance, results of many students have not been released, depriving them of appearing for further examinations. This issue became the reason for the demonstration.
Students say that despite the condition of 75% attendance prescribed in the university, clear guidelines were not given to the students regarding attendance standards in this session, due to which many students were not given the right to appear in the examination.
He alleged that the administration has withheld the results of many students in the name of low attendance, whereas according to the students, they were not given any correct information on time.
During the protest, students blocked the main gate of the engineering college and raised slogans and demanded talks with the administration in support of their demands.
The students stressed that firstly the problem of their attendance and backlog (canceled results/pending subjects) should be resolved and only then they will appear in the upcoming examinations. The situation calmed down a bit when talks started with the administration, but the students are adamant on their demands.
The university administration has currently intensified its efforts to control the protest and hold discussions with the students, while the students say that they will not rest until their problems related to attendance and results are satisfactorily resolved.
