Relatives demanding action with villagers outside the police post.
Jagran correspondent, Greater Noida. A drunk doctor hit two real brothers with his high-speed Honda City car. Both of them died a painful death. The incident took place near zero point in the Knowledge Park Kotwali area on Sunday night when the two brothers were pouring diesel into a Bolero parked on the roadside.
Angry relatives demonstrated outside the NPX police post demanding strict action against the doctor. Police arrested the accused driver and seized the Honda City car. The accused doctor is a resident of Bhagalpur, Bihar.
Gaurav Sharma (32) and Manoj Sharma (40), residents of Kundli Bangar village of the area, were real brothers. On Sunday, younger brother Gaurav had gone to the house of his sister living in Saini village with his family in Bolero. While returning home late in the evening, the Bolero ran out of diesel on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway near the zero point.
Gaurav had called elder brother Manoj and asked for diesel. Manoj somehow arranged for diesel from a petrol pump. While pouring diesel into the Bolero, Gaurav, who was standing nearby, started helping other vehicles to move to the side. Meanwhile, a speeding Honda City car went out of control and hit both the brothers.
Honda City was being driven by Dr. Siddharth Katyayan, a general physician working in Sharda Hospital. The relatives of the deceased allege that the doctor was drunk. However, the police have not confirmed the consumption of alcohol. The police did not even investigate whether the accused had consumed alcohol or not.
The police immediately took both the brothers to Yatharth Hospital. Doctors declared both of them dead. Police have arrested the accused doctor Siddharth Katayan, resident of MG Path police station Adampur, Bihar Bhagalpur and have taken Honda City into their possession. Kotwali in-charge Sarvesh Chandra said that further action is being taken against the accused driver in the case.
Both brothers fell away from the collision
The relative alleges that the accused doctor was drunk. Both of them were thrown away after being hit by the Honda City. The relatives who arrived with the dead body after the post-mortem demonstrated outside the NPX post on Monday evening. Alleged that the doctor's name was not included in the FIR. He was not even tested for drinking alcohol. This is why there is opposition. The police pacified the relative and sent him home, assuring him of appropriate action.
Family ruined due to doctor's negligence
The victim's relative told that elder brother Manoj Sharma used to support the family by selling momos near Sector-150 ATS. While younger brother Gaurav Sharma runs a grocery and tea shop near ATS Society.
Both were married. Both of their wives are housewives. Both the brothers looked after the family. Manoj has two daughters and two sons in his family. Gaurav's family has two sons and a daughter. The relative said that the family was ruined due to the doctor's negligence.
