In-laws Beat Married Woman To Death For Not Getting Bullet Bike As Dowry, Case Filed Against 5

Dialogue partner, Saifai. A woman resident of village Nagla Lale has filed an FIR in the police station on Thursday against five people, accusing her in-laws of beating her newly married daughter and leaving her dead for demanding dowry.

The victim's mother Sunita Devi, wife of late Anil Kumar, resident of Nagla Lale Saifai told that their daughter Neeshu was married on 19 April 2024 with Saurabh Yadav, son of Vijay Bahadur, resident of Nawalpura police station Saifai, Etawah. Four lakh rupees in cash and household items worth about three lakh rupees were given in the marriage. It is alleged that the groom, father-in-law, mother-in-law, sister-in-law and sister-in-law's husband kept demanding a Bullet bike as additional dowry.

Husband Saurabh, father-in-law Vijay Bahadur, mother-in-law Premlata, sister-in-law Anju, wife Ashok, resident of Jothri police station Karhal Mainpuri, sister-in-law Ashok Kumar many times used to threaten Nishu with beatings and death. At around 9 am on December 8, the accused together beat the daughter and left her at home in a critical condition. After regaining consciousness the daughter informed the police.

The police admitted him to Saifai University of Medical Sciences, where his treatment is ongoing. On the basis of Sunita Devi's complaint, the police have started investigation by registering a case against five in-laws including the accused husband under sections of dowry harassment, assault and intimidation.
