Jagran correspondent, Meerut. Heavy vehicles will not be able to enter the city before 2 am on December 31, a day before the New Year. SP Traffic has issued an advisory for this. SP Traffic has ordered checking at 10 places in the city to prevent people from creating ruckus after drinking alcohol during New Year celebrations. Apart from this, additional police forces will be deployed at 10 other places in the city.
SP Traffic Raghavendra Mishra has banned the entry of heavy vehicles in the city till 2 am on Wednesday night to ensure smooth traffic due to the programs being held in the city on the occasion of New Year. Due to increased vehicular traffic in the city at night, orders have been given to deploy police forces at major intersections.
SP said that the drivers will be checked with breath analyzer at Begumpul intersection, Hanuman Chowk, Olivia located on Delhi-Doon Highway, Mairajbisht, Romeo Lane, Harmony, Samrat Hotel, Shoprix Mall, Jailchungi intersection, PVS Mall and Hapur Adda intersection against those driving under the influence of alcohol. At the same time, barricades will be installed at sensitive intersections and places to prevent stunting and speeding.
Additional police forces will be deployed at Begumpul, Bhainsali bus stand, Hapur stand, Railway Road, Baghpat stand, Rohta flyover, Sardhana flyover, Modipuram, Jail Chungi and L Block intersection.
