Jagran correspondent Renukoot (Sonbhadra). A community health officer posted at an Ayushman Arogya Mandir has made serious allegations of molestation, coercion and threats against an officer of his own department. Pipri police station has registered a case in this matter and started investigation.
In the complaint given to the police, the victim said that on December 30, at around 10 am, Block Program Manager Ram Singh posted at Myorpur CHC called her and called her to the centre. He said there was a checklist to fill. On receiving the information, the victim hurriedly reached the centre.
According to the victim, while filling the checklist, Ram Singh pretended to show her the items related to delivery and took her to the delivery room. There the accused forcefully molested her, pushed her down and started touching her inappropriately. The victim somehow freed herself and ran out of the room.
It is alleged that even after this, Ram Singh followed him and threatened that he would terminate his job. The victim says that the accused's behavior is manipulative and he tries to exert pressure by misusing his position.
Pipri police station in-charge Inspector Satyendra Kumar Rai said that a case has been registered against Tahrir and the matter is being investigated. On the other hand, CMO Dr. PK Rai said that the victims have been called in this case and further action will be taken after hearing.
This incident is a matter of serious concern for women working in the community health department.
