Along with teaching children, teachers will now monitor the dogs.

Samvad Sutra, Jagdishpur (Amethi). A strange instruction has been issued by the Education Department. Teachers will now monitor the dogs along with teaching the children. After the order came, there was a stir among the teachers. The teachers union has expressed displeasure. Said that the order should be withdrawn. After the order of the Director of Education, BSA has asked all the block education officers to follow the order.

Now teachers of council schools will not only be seen teaching children, but will also be seen monitoring stray dogs on the streets and school premises. As soon as the departmental order came out, teachers' organizations started expressing strong protest, calling it against the respect of teachers.

In compliance with the instructions of the government and the PIL filed in the High Court, responsibility has been assigned to various departments for identification, prevention and control of stray dogs in urban areas.

In this sequence, instructions have been given to appoint nodal officers at the school level, who will keep an eye on the cleanliness, security of the campus and the movement of stray dogs.

It has also been made mandatory to display the name and mobile number of the nodal officer engaged in monitoring at the main gate of the school. To implement this order, the Basic Education Officer has issued a letter to all BEOs.

Instructions have been given in the letter that the situation of stray dogs should be identified around all the primary, upper primary, non-government aided and recognized schools of the development block area, especially the schools falling within the Municipal Corporation limits.

For this, coordination should be established with the concerned municipal body and the report should be sent to the district headquarters, so that it can be sent to the government level. It is clear from the order that for identifying stray dogs, teachers will have to come out of the school and perform additional responsibilities.

Assigning the responsibility of nominating nodal officers at the school level and identifying stray dogs is an insult to teachers. Due to which there is anger among the teachers. Teachers will oppose this order at every level. -Girinder Kumar Singh, General Secretary, Teachers Association Jagdishpur.
