Jagran correspondent, Varanasi. Pustak Singh, wife of Rahul Singh, resident of Balaji Nagar Colony, Bhagwanpur of Lanka police station area, has filed a case against an unknown fraudster. The incident happened last Saturday around 4.30 pm near V2 Mall in Lanka. Two young men came there and started asking for directions. Even after showing the way, he did not leave from there and suddenly started showing a wad of Rs 500. He said that he was returning after feeding his friend.

After this, those youths asked Pustak Singh to take out his jewelery and tie it safely in a handkerchief. The woman got entangled in the talks of the fraudsters and in the meantime, she folded some paper and gravel into bundles and gave them away, tied in a handkerchief. When Pustak Singh reached home and opened the bundle with a handkerchief, she found only pebbles and pieces of paper. Her earrings and neck chain, which had Om's locket, were missing.

Pustak Singh immediately informed this incident to Lanka police station. Police have registered an FIR and started searching for the fraudsters with the help of CCTV footage installed nearby. This incident is not only a case of fraud, but it also highlights the increasing trend of fraud in the society.

Police officials say that they are taking this matter seriously and will try to catch the accused as soon as possible. He has appealed to the citizens to be alert from such fraudsters and immediately report any suspicious activity to the police.
