In view of the ever increasing crowd of passengers at the railway station and the upcoming Kumbh Mela to be held in Haridwar in 2027, the work of widening the platform has been completed. This will provide adequate space for passengers to sit and stand on the platform.
Platform numbers 5/6 and 3/4 have been widened. The width of Platform 5/6 has been increased by about four meters in the central part and about 1.5 meters in the last part. At the same time, the width of platform 3/4 has been increased by about four meters in the central part and about two meters in the last part.
Generally, there is more crowd of passengers at the station during festivals and peak hours. Earlier, people were facing problems due to small platform area. A large number of people from Ghaziabad will travel by train for the Kumbh Mela to be held in Haridwar in the year 2027.
Holding areas can also be created by the Railways to control crowd. Earlier, due to lack of space, some passengers had to sit or stand on the stairs or foot over bridge. Widening of the platform will ease the movement of passengers and improve the safety of passengers.
