Inauguration of grand Ganga Aarti at Kila Ghat on the lines of Kashi in Chunar, Mirzapur.

Jagran correspondent Chunar (Mirzapur). On Friday, on the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami, a grand inauguration of Ganga Aarti on the lines of Kashi took place under the auspices of Chunar Club at Sahitya Sant Dham Qila Ghat of the city. The Maha Aarti was performed with proper rituals amid the chanting of Vedic mantras, blowing of conch shells and lighting of lamps in the presence of the continuous flow of holy Mother Ganga.

Chief guest Dr. Shailendra Patel inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. In a spiritual atmosphere, the entire ghat became filled with devotion with the deafening shouts of Har Har Gange, Jai Jai Gange and the devotees present appeared emotional. Along with three Archakas who had come from Kashi, four students of the local Shrimati Bhagirathi Trust Sanskrit College performed the Aarti of Mother Ganga in chorus.

On this occasion, the ghat was given an attractive look with flowers, lamps and electrical decorations. A huge crowd of city residents gathered to see Ganga Aarti. In coordination with Devesh Chakrawal, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, before the Aarti, garlanding, worship and lighting of lamp was done on the statue of Mother Saraswati.

A large number of devotees including Block Chief Rajgarh Gajendra Pratap Singh, Nayanagarh Mahotsav Committee President Dinesh Patel, Major Kripashankar Singh, Dr. Yogesh, Dr. Satyaprakash Singh, Bachau Lal Seth, Alok Singh, Samarth Singh Patel, Veer Singh, Abhishek Verma, Ranjit Mandal, Anand Pandey, Sanjeev Kushwaha, Pradeep Jaiswal, BK Binu, BK Tara were present in the program.
