Indian Under-19 team achieved victory

Sports Desk, New Delhi. After the stormy innings of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, with the combined contribution of the rest of the batsmen, the Indian Under-19 team defeated South Africa by eight wickets under the Duckworth-Lewis rule in the second Youth ODI match played in Benoni on Monday. Rain caused a lot of disruption in this match due to which India got the target of 174 runs in 27 overs to win. Team India achieved this target by losing two wickets in 23.3 overs.

South Africa batted first in this match and the entire team was bundled out for 245 runs in 49.3 overs. India made a stormy start on the strength of Vaibhav, but first after the 11th over and then after eight balls, the match was stopped due to bad weather. After a long time, the conditions became playable, then the umpires cut the overs of the match and gave India a target of 174 runs in 27 overs. With this, India has taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Vaibhav created a ruckus

Vaibhav, who was captaining Team India in this series, showed his stormy colors as soon as he arrived. He hit a six in the first over and then hit two sixes in the second over. He did not get a chance to play the fourth over. Till the seventh over, he hit a six in every over he played. He completed his half-century in 19 balls and that too with a six. This six came on the first ball of the seventh over. After this Vaibhav hit two more sixes. It seemed that he would hit six sixes but a four came on the next ball.

After Vaibhav's departure, Abhigyan Kundu took charge of the team. He got the support of Vedant Trivedi. Together they made a partnership of 81 runs and led the team to victory. Abhigyan missed his half-century by two runs. He faced 42 balls and scored unbeaten 48 runs with the help of three fours and two sixes. Vedant was successful in scoring 31 runs in 57 balls with the help of four fours.

Jason's century in vain

Before this, South African batsmen kept losing centuries continuously. For that, Jason Rowles scored a brilliant century. He scored an inning of 114 runs in 113 balls with the help of seven fours and three sixes. Apart from him, no other batsman could score even a half-century. After Jason, the team's highest scorer was Daniel Bosman who scored 31 runs in 63 balls. Adnan Lagden scored 25 runs on 24 balls.

Kishan Kumar Singh took four wickets for India. R S Ambrish took two wickets. Deepesh Devendran, Kanishk Chauhan and Khilan Patel got one wicket each.
