Digital Desk, New Delhi. US President Donald Trump has announced to reduce the tariff imposed on India. Trump has said that now 18 percent tariff will be imposed on India instead of 25 percent. Along with this, Trump has also said that a trade deal has been done with India. But there has been no response from India yet.

Earlier, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore had informed that there was a conversation between Prime Minister Modi and Donald Trump. After the announcement by Trump, PM Modi also posted and informed about the reduction in tariffs. The PM wrote, 'It was great to talk to my dear friend President Trump today. Glad that now the tariff on Made in India products will be reduced by 18%. On behalf of the 1.4 billion people of India, many thanks to President Trump for this wonderful announcement.
He further wrote, 'When two major economies and the world's largest democracies work together, it benefits our people and opens up many opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation. President Trump's leadership is essential for global peace, stability and prosperity. India fully supports their efforts for peace. I look forward to working closely with them to take our partnership to new heights.
Trump praised PM Modi
Trump also praised PM Modi in his post today. Trump wrote, 'It was an honor for me to talk to Prime Minister Modi of India this morning. He is one of my best friends and a powerful and respected leader of his country. We talked about a wide range of issues, including trade, and ending the war between Russia and Ukraine.
He further wrote, 'Out of friendship and respect for Prime Minister Modi, and with immediate effect at his request, we agreed to a trade deal between the United States and India. Our excellent relations with India will become even stronger in future. Prime Minister Modi and I are two people who get things done, which cannot be said for most people.
