Innovation Show Of Youth In IIT Delhi, 'Design For India' Shows Vision Of 2047

In the exhibition, 19 selected teams presented posters and models providing solutions to social, educational and technical challenges.

Jagran Samvadada, New Delhi. Giving a platform for creative participation of youth towards making the country a developed nation by 2047, a design exhibition was organized at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi under the national design challenge ‘Design for India – Youth Innovation Challenge 2026’. In the exhibition, 19 selected teams from Delhi presented solutions to social, educational and technological challenges in the form of posters, models and prototypes.

This initiative has been launched by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports under the Vikas Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026, which aims to encourage innovation, leadership and problem-solving abilities among the youth. Youth in the age group of 18 to 29 years participated in the competition and presented practical solutions based on the ground needs of India through their designs.

Out of more than 50 entries received from Delhi, the expert jury selected 19 entries for the exhibition through a multi-level evaluation process. The selected teams got the opportunity to showcase their projects on 2 January 2026 at the IIT Delhi campus. The jury comprised of eminent design academicians from Delhi-NCR and professionals working in the field played a decisive role.

The innovations of various educational institutions including School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) Delhi, Miranda House, Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Information Technology received special appreciation in the exhibition. Senior officials of the Ministry of Youth Affairs, professors from SPA Delhi and IIT Delhi visited the exhibition and interacted with the participants.

Professor of Design Department of IIT Delhi. Sumer Singh said that this type of initiative does not limit the youth to just design, but makes them agents of social change. He said that the cooperation between the Ministry and SPA Delhi was the basis for the success of this event.
