Jagran correspondent, Kanpur. After corruption, budget irregularities and quality deficiencies came to light in the construction of the newly constructed burn unit of LLR Hospital, Principal Secretary Public Welfare Department Ajay Chauhan has constituted a special investigation committee at the headquarters level. The committee formed under the chairmanship of the CDO has submitted its report to the District Magistrate's office. Investigation of the burn unit built by the State Construction Corporation has revealed that the project director and engineers played for a long time regarding the budget.

Payment was made to the contractors of Kannauj and Fatehpur from the approved budget for the burn unit. Due to this, the previously posted project director was suspended a few days before his retirement. The entire construction work of the burn unit was done by Prakash Builders firm. A budget of Rs 4.31 crore was spent in the construction, of which more than 80 percent was paid to Prakash Builders.

After the matter came to light, the Construction Corporation has withheld the security money of only Rs 5 lakh of Prakash Builders, questions are also being raised regarding this. A five-member investigation committee under the chairmanship of CDO Deeksha Jain had conducted an on-site inspection of the burn unit on December 17. During the inspection, serious objections were raised regarding the quality of construction, standard of materials and technical standards. The committee has submitted its detailed report to the District Magistrate's office, which will now be sent to the government. These are the people responsible

DC Pant (Project Manager, Retired), Manish Chandra (Project Manager, posted at Headquarters), Rakesh Kumar Gupta (Project Manager, present), Santosh Yadav (Project Manager, Electrical), Santosh Kumar (Assistant Engineer, Civil), Shyam Bahadur (Junior Engineer, Civil), Sunil Kumar (Chief Accountant).
