Sports Desk, New Delhi. There is a very good news for Jammu and Kashmir cricket. Pacer Aaqib Nabi was showered with money in the IPL auction. He was bought for an amount almost 28 times more than his base price of Rs 30 lakh. He was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 8.40 crore. SRH, RCB and RR also picked up the paddle to buy Aaqib.
Delhi defeated three teams
Aaqib Dar's name came first in the set of uncapped all-rounders. Its base price was Rs 30 lakh. Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals started the auction war by raising the paddle. RCB also joined the race. Aaqib's price crossed Rs 2 crore. When RCB was out, SRH entered the race.
Delhi kept raising the paddle and within no time Aaqib's price crossed Rs 4 crore. There was a fierce battle between Delhi and SRH and Aaqib Dar's price crossed Rs 8 crore. Ultimately, Delhi Capitals beat three franchises to buy Aaqib Dar for Rs 8.40 crore.
Aaqib is famous for swing bowling
Known for his ability to swing the ball both ways, Aaqib has been one of the most consistent performers for Jammu and Kashmir. His impressive 44 wickets in the Ranji Trophy made him one of the best bowlers in the country.
Took four wickets in four balls
He has also created history by becoming the first bowler in the history of Duleep Trophy to take four wickets in four balls. Expressing happiness over this achievement, Aaqib's father Ghulam Nabi Dar said that he is proud of his son's achievement.
Dar said, Aaqib's journey has just begun. Right now he has to work very hard and he is working day and night for his goal which is to make a place in Team A and I hope that he will achieve his goal with his dedication, determination and dedication.
