Communication Assistant, Gannaur (Sonipat). On Monday, the last day of the winter session of the Haryana Assembly, important issues related to Sonipat district were raised prominently in the House. The MLAs of Ganaur and Sonipat placed the problems related to infrastructure, traffic and sports infrastructure of their respective areas on the table of the House and demanded a concrete solution from the government.

Ganaur MLA Devendra Kadian, keeping in mind the biggest problem of the area, traffic jam and waterlogging, said that the construction of bypass, which is considered the lifeline of Ganaur city, is the top priority.

He said that it is very important to provide permanent relief to Ganaur from the problem of traffic jam. For this, the MLA put forward a practical suggestion to the government to avoid the complex process of land acquisition.

He proposed that if the Canal Department hands over the land adjacent to Rajpura Minor to the Road and Building Construction Department and a link road is constructed there, then about 40 percent traffic pressure of the city can be reduced.

While this will save time and money, it will also provide relief from the long process of land acquisition. On this, Public Works Minister Ranbir Gangwa assured the House that the government is serious about the construction of the bypass.

Land acquisition process will be started from e-Bhoomi portal

The minister said that the process of land acquisition will be started through e-land portal. Also, DPR will be prepared soon after checking the visibility of the canal route option suggested by the MLA. MLA Kadian also raised the problem of waterlogging that has been going on for years in Gannaur in the House.

Minister Gangwa informed that the estimate of storm water drainage scheme in the city has been prepared at a cost of Rs 14 crore. Under this, 2200 meter long RCC pipeline will be laid. 1200 square feet of land is required for the pumping station, for which a letter has been sent to the Market Board.

The tender process will be started as soon as the land is received. Apart from this, the MLA also placed the demand for strict action against hoarding of urea and DAP in the interest of farmers, stopping erosion in Yamuna area, early completion of Agwanpur Phatak Overbridge and giving the status of Municipal Council to Ganaur Municipality.

Raised the issue of strengthening the sports infrastructure of the city

Sonipat MLA Nikhil Madan raised the issue of strengthening the sports infrastructure of the city during the zero hour of the assembly. He demanded the renovation of Subhash Stadium and Sector-4 Stadium. He said that the need of the hour is to provide modern facilities to the players of Sonipat.

Demand to build a modern indoor stadium, state-of-the-art gym, toilets and dressing rooms for wrestling, kabaddi, basketball and handball in Subhash Stadium. He pointed out the need to replace the astroturf made for hockey in the Sector-4 stadium, renovate the athletics track, replace bad pitches and goal posts, warm-up area, better seating arrangements for spectators and strong fencing.

Besides, emphasis was also laid on renovation of tube wells and installation of modern sprinkler system for pouring water on Astroturf, separate toilet and dressing room for women players and provision of clean drinking water.

MLA Nikhil Madan said that the players of Sonipat have brought glory to the country and the state at the national and international level. In such a situation, the government should quickly fulfill all the legitimate demands related to sports facilities on priority basis. The government assured of positive action on all issues.
