Samvad Sahayak, Jagran, Rudraprayag: This year also, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has been deployed with the aim of maintaining strong winter security arrangements of Kedarnath Dham. At present, about 30 ITBP personnel are deployed in the Dham, while five Uttarakhand Police personnel are also continuously providing their services.
Despite snowfall and extreme cold, there should not be any reduction in the security of the Dham. For this, like every year, this time also ITBP has been deployed by the government. District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar said that ITBP is regularly deployed to ensure security in Kedarnath Dham during winter.
He said that this year also 30 ITBP personnel have been deployed in the Dham, who will handle the security and surveillance work from the time the doors are closed till the entire winter period. Along with this, five policemen are also continuously deployed in the Dham and providing essential services.
It is noteworthy that after the sanctum sanctorum of Kedarnath temple was decorated with gold, the Badri-Kedar temple committee had demanded from the government to deploy ITBP for the security of Kedarnath Dham during winter season. Since then, every year from 2022, ITBP deployment is being ensured in Kedarnath Dham from the time the doors are closed till the doors are opened.
District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar said that after the closure of the doors of Kedarnath, police and PAC were deployed for the security of the temple. Now ITBP has been deployed.
