Jhansi Bribery Case: Two Superintendents Including Deputy Commissioner Will Be Suspended, Departmental Action Will Also Be Taken

State Bureau, Lucknow. Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Deputy Commissioner Prabha Bhandari and two tax superintendents, arrested by the CBI in a bribery case of Rs 1.5 crore in Jhansi, will be suspended till Friday. Departmental action will also be taken against all the officers and employees whose names appear in the CBI charge sheet. There is also a preparation to transfer the personnel posted in CGST in Jhansi for a long time.

It is said that the Deputy Commissioner has been staying in Jhansi for the last several years and after being transferred from there for one or two years, he has been posted in Jhansi again. According to CGST Lucknow Principal Commissioner KP Singh, with the completion of 48 hours of the arrest in the bribery case, the Deputy Commissioner and both the Tax Superintendents will be suspended.

The suspension of Deputy Commissioner Prabha will be done by the Finance Ministry and the suspension of both Tax Superintendents Anil Tiwari and Ajay Kumar Sharma will be done by the Divisional Commissioner of Kanpur. Departmental action will also be taken against other officers and employees of the department whose names will appear in the CBI charge sheet. If the allegations are found true, the culprits may even be dismissed from service.
