Paddy procurement has started in Koderma district.
State Bureau, Ranchi. Procurement of paddy from farmers started simultaneously from Monday 15th December at all the paddy procurement centers of the state. Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari launched the online paddy procurement scheme during the district level program organized at SGSY Training Building Auditorium under Jamtara district.
Before the program, Deputy Commissioner Ravi Anand (I.P.S.), District Council President Radharani Soren, Project Director ITDA Jugnu Minj, District Supply Officer Kayum Ansari, District Transport Officer Mukesh Kumar, District Panchayat Raj Officer Pankaj Kumar Ravi etc. were present.
Addressing the program online on the occasion, Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari said that Jharkhand is the first state in the country, where lump sum payment will be made to the farmers. Expressing his gratitude towards Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the Minister said that through this scheme, the respect and trust of farmers has been restored.
Earlier, farmers had to face difficulties in selling paddy and getting payment for it. Payment being made in two to three installments also caused problems. We have removed the flaws.
The minister said that the one-time payment with minimum support price of Rs 2450 per quintal will definitely meet the state's paddy purchasing target of 07 lakh metric tonnes and more and more farmers will join the scheme.

Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari said that the government is making the entire process of paddy procurement transparent, simple and reliable. Farmers grow paddy with hard work. The government is completely sensitive towards the farmers and their rights will not be taken away at any cost.
He directed to take strict action against black marketing of paddy, illegal sale in other states and the role of middlemen. It is known that under paddy purchase, 100% payment will be made in one go at the rate of Rs 2450 per quintal.
