Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. Amidst the controversy over recent sloganeering in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus, Vice Chancellor Prof. Shantishree Dhulipudi Pandit has clearly said that the activities of a few people do not decide the character of the entire university. He said that every university may have some crazy elements, but they are not the identity of JNU.

The Vice Chancellor said that after the sloganeering incident the university returned to normalcy within 24 hours and at present the campus is completely peaceful.

International recognition of JNU

Describing JNU as the most nationalist university in the country, he said that it is not limited to India only, but is also recognized at the international level. JNU is a brand, what is said here has a global impact.

The event was organized at Sabarmati Dhaba on the anniversary of the violent attack on 5 January 2020.

Vice Chancellor Shantisree Pandit was speaking at a conference on 'The M-Silent Invasion: Illegal Migration in Mumbai'.
