Jamui: Criminals Beat A Gold Businessman Fiercely With The Butt Of A Pistol And Looted Rs 50 Lakh.

The gold trader is being treated in the hospital. Police is present there.

Samvad Sutra, Jamui. The courage of the criminals once again appeared fearless in the district, when the miscreants looted about Rs 50 lakh from a gold businessman in a planned manner. This incident took place near Anjan river bridge on Jamui-Malaypur main road around 9 pm on Thursday night. During the robbery, the miscreants injured the businessman by hitting him with the butt of the pistol and fled from the spot.

The victim businessman has been identified as Vikram Kumar Soni alias Vicky, resident of Purani Bazar. According to the information, Vikram Kumar was going to Jamui station by bike. His plan was to park his bike in the parking lot of the station premises and go to Kolkata by train, from where he would return after purchasing jewellery. The cash with him was kept for the same jewelery purchase.

It is said that masked miscreants riding on two bikes were chasing them from Jamui city. As soon as the businessmen reached near the Anjan river bridge, seeing the deserted road, the miscreants overtook them and tried to stop them. Sensing the danger, the businessman tried to run away, but suddenly some associates of the criminals came from the front in an auto and threatened him. Seeing himself surrounded, the businessman could not even control himself when the miscreants started beating him.

He was injured by being hit on the head with the butt of a pistol and about Rs 50 lakh kept in his bag was looted. After committing the crime, all the miscreants fled from the spot. Local people took Vikram Kumar in injured condition to Sadar Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. On receiving the information, the Superintendent of Police himself reached the hospital and took information about the incident from the victim businessman.

As soon as the news of the incident spread, a large number of businessmen reached Sadar Hospital to inquire about the well being of the victim. There is an atmosphere of panic among the traders of the city due to this robbery. The police have started investigating the matter and the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the surrounding areas is being scrutinized.
