Now cancer patients will be treated in Katihar.

This will save you from the hassle of moving towards Patna, Kolkata or other big cities. Adequate arrangements have been made in the day-care cancer center for necessary testing facilities, consultation by expert doctors, day-care based chemotherapy, distribution of medicines and follow-up treatment. The Health Department is continuously monitoring this scheme for proper implementation. By not having to go out for treatment, patients will get treatment at a lower cost. Although there is a government scheme, the patients' money will not be spent in this.

Equipped with modern medical equipment and facilities, this center will provide safe, accessible and quality health services to the patients. Hospital Deputy Superintendent Dr. Asha Sharan said that this initiative is an important step towards strengthening cancer treatment facilities in the district. With this, patients will be able to get timely treatment and regular monitoring of the disease will also be possible.

With treatment available at the local level, patients and their relatives will get mental and financial relief. Non-Communicable Disease Control Officer Dr. R Suman said that the inauguration of the day-care cancer center will strengthen the health infrastructure of the district and will emerge as a new hope for the patients suffering from cancer. On this occasion, hospital manager Chandan Kumar Singh, Dr. Sushant, Dr. Aishwarya etc. health workers were present.

85 cancer patients have been identified in the district

At present about 85 cancer patients have been identified in the district, which includes breast cancer, cervical cancer and other types of cancer patients. Dr. Aishwarya said that cases of oral cancer, breast cancer and cancer related to uterus and cervix in women are continuously coming to the fore. Effective control of these diseases is possible with timely diagnosis and correct treatment.
