King Charles' brother Andrew released after 11 hours

Digital Desk, New Delhi. Britain's former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on Thursday over alleged abuse by Jeffrey Epstein, and was later released. Andrew, 66, is accused of sending government documents to Epstein, a convicted sex offender. Andrew was detained at his home on the Sandringham estate in eastern England on his 66th birthday.

After about 11 hours of questioning, he was released under investigation, which means he has not been formally charged at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.

What did King Charles say?

Brother King Charles issued a statement after Andrew's arrest, saying, "I have heard the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and that he is being investigated over allegations of misconduct in public office. The law must be allowed to take its course."

Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing in his relationship with Epstein, and has said that he regrets their friendship. After his arrest, his wife and child have not made any public statements.

Following Andrew's arrest, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said, "The law must be allowed to take its course, and no one should be above the law."

Andrew is accused of sending government documents to Epstein in 2010, when he was the government's special representative for trade and investment. She had to resign from this post in 2011 due to her relationship with Epstein.
