Altogether six universities are already running in Kolhan. Now a new university can open here.
The files of Rambha College and RVS College are under consideration with the government. Similarly, nomination is already being done for 450 seats in the medical field. This number may cross 600 in the new year. Besides, Medical College of Chaibasa can also come into existence.
It has also been announced to open a medical college in Jamshedpur's Sadar Hospital on PPP model. Overall, Kolhan division is moving towards becoming a hub of education. Talking about East Singhbhum, two new degree colleges can be started here.
A degree college is being built in Bodam. Work has also started in Hata. Degree colleges in both the places may come into existence in the new year. Its preparations have been done from the university level. Just waiting for permission from Higher Education Department. Here in Ghatshila, the work of demarcation has started regarding the land of Pandit Raghunath Murmu Tribal University. The government is continuously trying to open this university.
Kolhan University hopes to get professor this year
Professors of Kolhan University are expected to get promotion this year. If promotions happen, the university will get at least 11 professors. This will provide convenience to students doing PhD.
The university will also give more emphasis on research and patents this year in view of the implementation of the new education policy. A separate action plan is also being prepared for this. The website of the university is also being upgraded as per the instructions of UGC. Under the new education policy, the first batch of UG will also come out this year.
