Jagran correspondent, Unnao. After the suspension of Kuldeep Singh Sengar's sentence by the Delhi High Court, the pain of the rape victim has come to the fore. He said that his problems have increased due to this decision. Kuldeep Singh Sengar is Baahubali. His family has started receiving threats. The family is in danger. Other people who have been released from jail for murdering their father are issuing threats. They are saying that now my Kuldeep Bhaiya has come out, now each one will be dealt with. Let us tell you that Kuldeep Singh Sengar has got relief in the rape case. But the appeal petition of the rape victim in the case of death of her father in police custody is pending in the High Court. He will be able to come out on bail only after the decision in that case.
Eight years ago, the Makhi rape case, which was discussed in India and abroad, had created a huge stir in politics, after which he is serving life imprisonment. Let us tell you that a 17-year-old girl from Makhi, who described herself as a minor, had alleged that on June 4, 2017, Kuldeep Singh Sengar called her to her residence on the pretext of getting her a job and raped her. After the incident, she reached Makhi police station with her relatives, but under the influence of the MLA, the police did not register a case. Despite continuous complaints from June 2017 to March 2018, no action was taken.
Arrest made after father's death
On April 3, the victim's father was beaten and under the influence of Kuldeep Sengar, the police sent the father to jail. On April 8, 2018, a teenager attempted self-immolation in front of the Chief Minister's residence in Lucknow. In the early hours of April 9, 2018, the victim's father was admitted to the district hospital when his condition deteriorated in jail. The father died in the district hospital. After this, a case was registered against Kuldeep and his brother Atul and others. On April 13, 2018, on the orders of Allahabad High Court, the investigation of the entire case was handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). On April 13, 2018, CBI called MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar and arrested him and sent him to jail. After this BJP expelled him from the party.
Then the Supreme Court took cognizance
On July 28, 2019, the rape victim was going by car with her relatives to meet her uncle lodged in Rae Bareli jail. The truck had hit the victim's car near Gurubuxganj. In this accident, the victim's aunt and uncle died on the spot, while the victim and her lawyer were seriously injured. The advocate died after 15 months of treatment. The family had termed it as a well-planned conspiracy. On August 1, 2019, the Supreme Court itself took cognizance of the case and transferred the entire case from UP to Delhi Tis Hazari Court. Instructions were also issued to provide security to the victim and her family.
Tis Hazari court had sentenced
On December 20, 2019, Tis Hazari Court of Delhi, after the completion of the hearing, convicted Kuldeep Singh Sengar of raping a minor. On 21 December 2019, the court sentenced Kuldeep Singh Sengar to life imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 25 lakh. Out of this, Rs 10 lakh was ordered to be given as compensation to the victim. In March 2020, in the case related to the death of the victim's father, the Delhi court had convicted Kuldeep Singh Sengar and seven others and imposed 10 years' imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10 lakh.
CRPF security was given on August 1, 2019
On August 1, 2019, the Supreme Court had given CRPF protection to the victim, her relatives and another lawyer. This protection remained intact for more than six and a half years. After this, CRPF security was removed on April 3, 2025. Only the victim was given security cover from Delhi Unit.
The police station chief and police inspector were also punished
Apart from Kuldeep Sengar, his brother Atul, a case was registered against others in the murder of the rape victim's father. At the same time, a case was registered against Makhi SO Ashok Bhadauria and Light in-charge Inspector KP Singh and others under various sections including conspiracy to murder, sending the father to jail fraudulently under the Arms Act. CBI called the police station incharge and sub-inspector KP Singh for questioning, arrested them and sent them to jail.

When his wife, former District Panchayat President Sangeeta Sengar was talked to about the suspension of the sentence of convicted former MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, she said that we got the information about it in the afternoon. I am leaving from Lucknow for Delhi. I fully respect the decision of the judiciary. I have full confidence that we will get justice from the judiciary.
Aunty said, son was innocent, he was wrongly implicated
The pain of his aunt Saroj Singh also came out after the sentence of convicted former MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar was suspended and he got bail. He said that today the High Court has given relief to my son in his sentence. He was implicated in the conspiracy. The person who was elected MLA by the public four times cannot commit such a despicable act. There was faith in God and the judiciary and will continue to be so.
