Jagran correspondent, Chitrakoot. Every day a large number of construction workers gather in search of work along the Jhansi-Mirzapur National Highway at Dhanush intersection, the heart of the district headquarters. Workers have to face heat, cold and rain while standing under the open sky. Taking this problem seriously, the district administration has started preparations to shift the workers from Dhanush intersection and create a permanent labor base with basic facilities.

The Executive Officer and Deputy District Magistrate of Municipal Council Chitrakootdham Karvi have been entrusted with the responsibility of selecting a minimum of 200 square meters of government land within a radius of one kilometer from Dhanush intersection, where a labor base can be constructed. The administration is busy searching for government land so that construction work can be started as soon as possible.

Assistant Commissioner of Labor Department, Ratan Kumar Gupta said that as soon as the land becomes available, the labor base will be constructed, in which necessary facilities like waiting room, public convenience center, toilets, drinking water system and canteen will be developed for the workers.

This will directly benefit about 80 thousand construction workers of the district, who are still standing in uncomfortable conditions waiting for work. The construction of a labor base will not only provide a safe and respectable place to the workers, but will also reduce the congestion and traffic problems at the major intersections of the city.
