On Thursday, the authority demolished illegal construction on a large scale and took possession of 83 thousand square meters. Its market value is estimated to be more than Rs 830 crore.
Let us tell you that three teams of the authority have taken major action in Bhangel Begumpur, Suthiyana located in Sector-143, Soharkha Zahidabad. In the morning itself, different teams of the authority reached the spot with their force carrying yellow claws. Although some people protested against the action on the spot, the heavy police force present pacified them and got the illegal construction demolished.
Illegal occupation will not be tolerated at any cost.
Authority officials said that the first team under the leadership of Work Circle-8 reached Khasra number 58 of village Bhangel Begumpur. Encroachment was removed from here. Here about 2000 square meters of land was freed from encroachment.
After this the next team reached the submerged area of village Suthiyana Sector 143. Here is the land acquired and occupied by the authority. About 75,000 square meters of land was freed from encroachment.
The third team freed about 6000 square meters of acquired and occupied land in the submerged area of Soharkha Zahidabad from encroachment and took possession of it. The value of these three lands is more than Rs 830 crore.
Officials said illegal encroachment will not be tolerated at any cost. A total of 215912 square meters of land has been freed from encroachment by the authority in the year 2024-25 and a total of 2393158 square meters of land in the year 2025-26. Its estimated market value is more than Rs 2745 crore. About 25 FIRs have also been lodged in various police stations.
At present 527 notices have been issued against 174 encroachers in the authority area. Apart from this, a team is being formed and work is being done on a special action plan to demolish illegal constructions. Soon, action may be taken to demolish illegal construction on a large scale in the city.
