Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Additional Chief Secretary of the Services Department, Arun Gupta, instructed the concerned officers through video conferencing to register maximum number of eligible students for the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for the academic session 2025-26 by 28th February. Under this scheme, scholarships are provided to Scheduled Caste and Backward Class students for pursuing higher education so that they are not deprived of pursuing higher education due to financial constraints.
Deputy Commissioner Sahil Gupta instructed the district nodal officer and other nodal officers of the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme in the camp office to ensure registration of as many eligible students as possible on the NSP portal by the stipulated date.
To avail the benefits of this scheme, the student registering will be verified by the nodal officer of the concerned institution. After this, the District Nodal Officer will verify and after this the State Total Officer of the concerned departments will transfer the amount of the scheme to the bank accounts of the students who have registered. The Deputy Commissioner said that special awareness and assistance camps should be organized in all colleges and educational institutions so that maximum eligible students can apply on the NSP portal before the last date.
